Valerie Sworn is a Fort Worth, Texas native and graduate of the historic Paul Laurence Dunbar High School. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Finance from Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, Arkansas, and her Juris Doctor from Texas A&M University School of Law. After practicing family law, civil and general litigation in the Dallas area, Valerie relocated to Galveston, Texas to serve as an Assistant District Attorney, prosecuting misdemeanor, juvenile and felony level offenses. She has been working as a civil litigator and defense attorney for the majority of her tenure as a lawyer, tackling First and Third-Party matters, Commercial Litigation and all manner of Personal Injury Defense. Valerie is now Senior Counsel at Fee, Smith & Sharp’s Houston office, where she defends her clients on a broad range of liability matters.
Service has always been a priority in Valerie’s life. She has remained active in her community as a member of the graduate chapter of her sorority and a teacher/administrator at her local church. She also maintains memberships in various local and statewide bar associations.
Valerie is married to husband, Ryan, and they are proud parents of son, RJ, and dog, Blaze. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, watching cooking competitions (occasionally cooking and baking for herself), and working out with her Peloton.
