Jon Azano has more than 21 years experience representing clients across Texas in major construction defect litigation, commercial/contract litigation, trade secret litigation, fiduciary litigation, employment litigation and collection matters. He has successfully defended companies and individuals, often in “bet the company” litigation and has first chair trial experience in Dallas, Collin, Harris and Montgomery counties. He practices in state and federal trial courts, appellate courts, arbitration and mediation.
The majority of Mr. Azano’s litigation practice is dedicated to construction defect litigation. He has represented owners, general contractors, subcontractors and design professionals all across the state in matters ranging from residential disputes to multi-million dollar sports complex litigation. Mr. Azano regularly enforces his client’s contractual rights and aggressively pursues commercial debtors.
In addition to Mr. Azano’s litigation practice, he regularly counsels clients with respect to interpretation, drafting and negotiation of contracts. His experience with transactional matters is an asset when litigation necessitates the interpretation and understanding of contractual provisions. As a former small business owner, Mr. Azano understands the needs of Fee, Smith & Sharp’s clients. With this experience, Mr. Azano has assisted the firm’s small business clients in reducing their litigation exposure.
