As Senior Counsel with the firm, Crystal Gibson has over 21 years of litigation experience representing companies across Texas in personal injury, mass tort, products liability, premises liability, commercial transactions, and real estate litigation. Crystal represents parties in state and federal court litigation and has successfully defended clients at both the trial and appellate level.

Crystal has successfully argued and obtained summary judgment in hundreds of cases dismissing all claims against her clients with prejudice, attended numerous mediations leading to favorable settlements, and prevailed in at least sixteen state court appeals in various appellate courts across Texas as well as two federal Fifth Circuit appeals where she served as co-counsel.

Prior to joining the firm, Crystal was a partner at Crouch & Ramey, a litigation firm based in Dallas, Texas where her practice included personal injury, mass tort, products liability and premises liability. Crystal expanded her litigation experience through her approximate ten-year practice of real estate litigation where she represented nationally known banking institutions, mortgage lenders and servicers.

Crystal was born and raised in the small north central Texas town of Electra where she graduated Valedictorian of her class. She went on to attend Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas, where she graduated cum laude with a double major in Political Science and Criminal Justice. Crystal fulfilled her father’s dream when she obtained her law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law.

Crystal is committed to a number of volunteer activities which include serving as Robinson Middle School PTA’s chairman of the Healthy Lifestyles committee and working with the Top Achievers Foundation, a Plano based non-profit organization that focuses on sports development and academic support.

Outside her legal practice, Crystal enjoys spending time with her family and chauffeuring her middle school twins to and from their various activities, including basketball, baseball, volleyball, band and choir. Crystal loves spending her fall weekends deer hunting with her husband, Trent, and watching Texas Tech Red Raider football.

• Steven Steptoe, et al., v. JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A., Crystal obtained an appellate judgment affirming the trial court’s summary judgment dismissing plaintiff’s claims with prejudice. The opinion issued by the First District Court of Appeals was a case of first impression wherein the Houston Court of Appeals held that the Kaspar rule did not apply to a home-equity lien. Consequently, a claim for judicial foreclosure of a home-equity lien was not a compulsory counterclaim that should have been brought in an earlier suit filed by the appellant.
• Robert Peterson v. Bank of America, N.A., Crystal obtained summary judgment in the federal Eastern District of Texas – Sherman Division dismissing plaintiff’s claims with prejudice. During her investigation into the facts of the case, Crystal revealed fraudulent filings which she also determined were linked to numerous other state and federal lawsuits. After several evidentiary hearings, Crystal obtained a sanctions order which prevented various parties from filing federal lawsuits without first obtaining court approval.
• Neil Albrecht, et al. v. The Bank of New York Mellon fka The Bank of New York, as Trustee for CWABS, Inc., Asset-Backed Certificates, Series 2005-17, Crystal obtained an appellate judgment affirming the trial court’s summary judgment dismissing plaintiff’s claims with prejudice.
• David W. Perry v. Cam XV Trust, Crystal obtained an appellate judgment affirming the trial court’s summary judgment dismissing plaintiff’s claims with prejudice.
• Woodhaven Dr. 1401 Land Trust v. Bank of America, N.A., Crystal obtained an appellate judgment affirming the trial court’s judgment dismissing plaintiff’s claims with prejudice.
• Rick Emmert v. Wilmington Savings Fund Society, FSB d/b/a Christiana Trust, not in its individual capacity but solely as Indenture Trustee for ARLP Securitization Trust, Series 2015-1, Crystal obtained an appellate judgment affirming the trial court’s judgment dismissing plaintiff’s claims with prejudice.
• Barbara Simmons v. Priority Bank, N.A., Crystal obtained an appellate judgment affirming the trial court’s judgment dismissing plaintiff’s claims with prejudice.
