About Nick

EXPERIENCE

Nick Grasshoff is a Senior Associate in the Austin office. He is a native Austinite and has experience in many areas of law including personal injury, construction defect, and transportation liability.

Nick started as a clerk at Fee, Smith & Sharp’s Dallas, Texas office in the summer of 2014 before starting as an Associate Attorney at the firm’s Austin office. Prior to rejoining Fee, Smith & Sharp in 2025, Nick spent several years assisting on the opioid litigation in Texas, an issue near to his heart, leading to the recovery of billions of dollars for the state of Texas

In law school, Nick was on the school’s American Association for Justice (AAJ) mock trial team. He also received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in his trial advocacy class. Prior to law school, Nick was a punter on the football teams at the University of Arkansas and Trinity University (Texas) in addition to excelling academically.

TRIAL VICTORIES

  • Strong Structural Steel v. Satterfield & Pontikes – Successfully defended counterclaims against client (no liability finding), Strong Structural Steel, in multi-million dollar construction-delay damages case (American Arbitration Association, March 2016).
  • Azim Ellam v. Joshua R. Snyder and Tru-Blue Conveyance, LLC – Obtained a unanimous defense verdict as first-chair in a jury trial in which the Plaintiff alleged that the Defendant and his trucking company rear-ended his vehicle. The jury found that the Plaintiff failed to yield the right-of-way while attempting to merge on to a Texas highway and that the Plaintiff caused the accident.
