About Justin

EXPERIENCE

Justin Spears joined Fee, Smith & Sharp in 2025 as an Associate Attorney. During his legal career, Justin has litigated in a broad range of practice areas including commercial litigation, real estate, personal injury, and labor and employment. His practice at the Firm focuses on personal injury defense.

Prior to joining FS&S, Justin worked at a regional Texas Firm known for its prominent real estate practice. There, Justin successfully defended clients through all phases of a case from pre-litigation resolution through trial and appeal. Justin’s extensive experience allows him to efficiently and effectively counsel clients through litigation.

REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS:

  • Pierzina v. Mendez Utilities Inc. (Dallas County, Texas). Obtained unanimous jury verdict at trial as first chair defense attorney. Defended a utility subcontractor against Plaintiff’s claim of personal injuries in a premises liability case. Plaintiff alleged over $400,000.00 in damages. The jury returned a defense verdict in less than an hour.
  • Steinhagen v. Heritage Oaks of Georgetown Homeowners Association (Williamson County, Texas). Obtained judgment for Defendant homeowners association at bench trial in district court. Plaintiff alleged that his homeowner’s association breached its restrictive covenants and had breached a contract, resulting in damages. At trial, Plaintiff requested an award of over $100,000.00 in attorney’s fees. The Court ruled that the Association had not breached its restrictive covenants nor the contract at issue. Plaintiff took nothing.
  • DTA Community Mgmt. Services v. Bulldog Builders & Contractors, LLC (First District Court of Appeals of Texas) Successful appeal of two summary judgment orders where Plaintiff was awarded over $200,000.00 in damages. The Court of Appeals reversed summary judgment awarded to Plaintiff on liability and damages, issuing a favorable opinion for the Defendants to continue to litigate the case in the trial court.
  • Ra-Amari v. Grand West Residential Condominium Association, Inc. (United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas) Won dismissal for a condominium association client in a high-profile fair housing act discrimination case. The case was reported on by CNN, the Houston Chronicle, ABC13, and Yahoo News, amongst others.
