EXPERIENCE

John D. Plumlee is a Texas trial attorney that has assisted hundreds of clients obtain justice throughout his career. Mr. Plumlee is a native of the Rio Grande Valley and a proud graduate of the Texas Tech University School of Law (Class of 2011).

Mr. Plumlee began his career in law as a zealous advocate for the criminally accused before representing defendants in civil matters as an associate at Royston, Rayzor, Vickery and Williams. As a defense lawyer, John handled numerous claims involving trucking accidents, shipyard accidents, construction defect claims and car accidents. Throughout this time, he still maintained in interest in criminal defense and helped secure an acquittal in federal court for a client unfairly accused of defrauding the government of over a million dollars.

In addition to handling matters on the defense side, Mr. Plumlee has represented parties on the Plaintiff’s side of the docket on a wide range of claims, from business disputes to victims of drunk drivers. As a result of working on both sides of the docket in injury and commercial matters, Mr. Plumlee has a unique perspective on assessing claims.

Mr. Plumlee completed his undergraduate degree at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio before attending Texas Tech University School of Law in Lubbock, Texas. He is licensed to practice statewide. Additionally, he is admitted to practice in the Western and Southern Districts of Texas. Lastly, Mr. Plumlee was a presenter at the 2022 UT Law Car Crash Seminar where he gave a presentation on the subject of future damages in Texas.

REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS

  • Stewart v. Management and Training Corporation, obtained a dismissal on a party’s unfounded claims against a detention facility (United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas).
  • Sun Belt Transportation, Inc. vs. Codysur Logistics, LLC, counsel for transportation company in a business litigation dispute.
  • Castelan v. Bin Dumped, successfully represented an injured plaintiff in a lawsuit stemming from a motor vehicle collision involving a commercial vehicle.
  • Moca Creamery v. Trevino Plumbing, represented a subcontractor accused of causing property damage.
  • RGCISD v. Skanksa USA, et al, proudly represented Victoria Air Conditioning, Ltd. in this complex construction defect lawsuit.
  • Enrique Cubas, et al, v. Giles, represented an injured family in a motor vehicle collision.

TRIAL VICTORIES

  • United States of America v. Phillips, et al, second chair and lead briefing attorney for a party wrongfully accused of Medicaid Fraud. Obtained an acquittal of all charges for our client (United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas).
  • Myracks v. Phelps, Obtained a favorable verdict in a hard-fought motor vehicle dispute case on behalf of the Plaintiff in a county that is considered to be anti-plaintiff. (395th Judicial District Court of Williamson County, Texas).
