About Eric
EXPERIENCE
Eric Walraven began his legal career in a civil litigation firm in Lubbock, Texas where he had the opportunity to appear in the trial and appellate courts almost immediately, handling his first appellate argument less than a year after receiving his law license in November 1995. Those early opportunities helped develop invaluable courtroom skills.
Now, almost thirty years later, Mr. Walraven continues to use those skills to represent a myriad of companies and individuals in a wide variety of litigation matters, both trial and appellate, that include contracts and business torts, catastrophic personal injury, transportation, premises and products liability, as well as employment and trade secret litigation.
In addition to handling trial court matters across Texas, Mr. Walraven has handled federal court and/or bankruptcy matters in New York, Delaware, and Tennessee. In his appellate practice, Mr. Walraven has handled matters before fourteen of the fifteen courts of appeals in Texas, the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Texas Supreme Court, where he has obtained multiple victories. Mr. Walraven obtained board certification in Civil Appellate Law from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in 2004.
Mr. Walraven was a President’s Scholar and member of the Dean’s List while in law school and also took part in mock trial and negotiation competitions. While an undergraduate, Mr. Walraven was a member of the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Fraternity and the Goldey Key National Honor Society.
As someone who is severely hard of hearing, Mr. Walraven advocates for people with special needs and is a member of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Bar Association.
