Upon his graduation from law school, he was selected to the Order of the Barristers, recognizing him as one of the top advocates in his graduating class at the SMU Dedman School of Law. After law school, Austin honed his trial skills as a prosecutor in Wichita Falls, Texas. There he was entrusted to prosecute some of the most heinous crimes, including murder and indecency with a minor. He then returned home to Austin, Texas, where he joined the Texas Attorney General’s office as a civil litigator. At the Attorney General’s office, Austin defended state officials in a vast array of claims including civil rights, premises liability, administrative, and disability discrimination claims in both state and federal court at both the trial and appellate stage. In all cases, Austin draws upon his diverse litigation experience to advocate for his client, no matter the claim.
In his free time, you can find Austin cheering on the Texas Longhorns, boating on Texas lakes, or trying a new restaurant.
