Mr. Woodward, a native of Dallas, has obtained numerous defense verdicts in state courts around the State of Texas on behalf of both individuals and corporations since beginning his career as a litigator. As a partner at FSSV, he is currently representing a wide variety of clients against claims involving death and catastrophic injuries, personal injuries, bad faith, and business disputes.

Mr. Woodward regularly serves as lead counsel in high exposure litigation and makes it his goal to ensure all defenses available to his clients are being explored and implemented and the case is handled in the most effective and efficient manner. He believes the key to successful resolution of a case, whether by settlement or trial, is an early evaluation of the strengths and weaknesses of a particular case coupled with the ability to utilize the strengths and manage the weaknesses. Mr. Woodward's trial experience has helped him develop the skills necessary to achieve these goals for his clients.

Representative Matters:
Vivian Wells v. City of Fort Worth, et al, lead counsel for the City of Fort Worth in successfully defending the City against a premises liability claim and obtaining summary judgment on behalf of the City of Fort Worth.

Billie Jean King v. Leo Rodriguez and MCI, lead counsel in successfully defending and obtaining summary judgment on behalf of MCI in a case involving an automobile accident between Plaintiff and an MCI employee.

Adelmo Cisneros v. United Parcel Service, Inc., et al, lead counsel for UPS in defending and obtaining a favorable settlement in a premises liability claim involving a finger amputation.

Trial victories:

Jenkins v. Architect Utilities, Inc. - lead trial attorney in obtaining a defense verdict in a case involving personal injury claims arising from an accident that occurred within Defendant's construction zone.

Felipe Martinez v. Coleman Properties, L.P., et al, trial co-counsel in obtaining a defense verdict for a trucking company and its driver against personal injury claims including over $185,000 in past medical expenses.

Robert Dale Ford v. Southwest Sport Group, et al, trial co-counsel in obtaining a defense verdict in a lawsuit brought by a former Major League umpire involving personal injuries allegedly sustained as a result of an accident that occurred following a game at The Ballpark in Arlington. The Plaintiff's claims included inadequate security and a premises defect at The Ballpark allegedly causing a fall that resulted in a severe knee injury and a total knee replacement. The jury returned a finding of no negligence against the Defendants.

Kubota v. Deavers Construction, et al, lead trial counsel in obtaining a defense verdict in a personal injury case involving an automobile accident that occurred in a construction zone between Plaintiff and a truck driven by an employee of Deavers Construction.
