Laura Richards is an associate attorney as well as a licensed professional engineer. Prior to attending law school, she was employed by HNTB Corporation in Plano, Texas, where she worked on a variety of transportation projects including the I.H. 635/U.S. 75 "High Five" Interchange. She also assisted on various other projects for the City of Dallas, City of Garland, City of Frisco, Dallas Area Rapid Transit, North Texas Tollway Authority, and the Texas Department of Transportation. Ms. Richards is an asset to the firm's construction defect and transportation liability practice due to her engineering background and her ability to read and understand plans and specifications.
While in law school, Ms. Richards was a member of the John Marshall International Moot Court team (2004), the TYLA Mock Trial team (2006), and the Lone Star Mock Trial team (2005). She was a member of the Board of Barristers and Vice President of the Student Bar Association (2005 - 2006). While in undergraduate school, Ms. Richards served as President of the American Society of Civil Engineers and was voted Outstanding Senior Civil Engineering Student for the entire state of Louisiana (2000).
During Ms. Richards' legal career she has worked with a broad range of clients on a variety of civil litigation matters. Her practice primarily includes construction defect and products liability, premise liability and retail litigation, and transportation litigation.
